Certain vision problems such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism, and presbyopia are considered refractive because they relate to your eye's ability to properly bend or refract light rays entering the eye. When light reflects properly onto the retina, your vision is considered normal. When it does not, your vision becomes blurred. Refractive surgery can correct the eye's inability to refract light properly.
